After the best track, the worst is waiting for us......is my personal opinion about PUNTA FRIA.
short and very slow track, ideal for go -kart , ridiculous for F1 cars, guaranteed carnage, where it is impossible to overtake unless you use a dronecar.
Is This We Really Want?

I like this kind of original girds (how about a 4 car first row at silverstone?). I think we are all good enough and experienced to manage that kind of start - normaly.
The past has proven we can't, for online racing only online start grids in the future.

After the best track
Allthough a drive around Clermont is not boring and somehow addictive, it is a mini Nürburgring. There are more people disliking then loving, unless your name is Uli and you are from Germany ;) . It is not easy to find the perfect mix of tracks for a season. There is always a track you are not font off.

Greetings, Marcel

Hello everyone,

sorry to anyone now from the new point of view.

Seems connection problems where on my side not on server side, can't explain it atm.
Worked all well before. I need to fix them before next race.

At Punta Fria I have never turned and in any case I don't mind short runs,
it takes less time to learn them and to go fast and the gaps between drivers are reduced .. :)

For online races, the width is more important than the length of the track and they have no freeze problems.
I don't know who decides but everything is fine by me and I thank the organizers for their commitment and passion.

PS I think my brother slept badly, it's usually quiet .. :D

Grats to the podium and all who managed to finish.
Too bad for those who didn't make it to the end, well or not even past T1. :(

My wheel felt strange during qualifying. I left the server and changed my settings (I had adjusted for the last SC race) in GEM+ back to Maximum Force "400" (for the Sportscars I used "450"). But somehow the wheel still did not feel like it was in the past, also not after recalibration in GPL.
I have to look into that again.

My qualifying time was horrible. In this case good as I managed to avoid all crashed cars in front.
I had 2-3 spins and was lucky to finish. Sorry to all that had to deal with my spun car.

I am looking forward to Punta Fria 1952.

Some background info on the grid:
When I created/reworked and tested the wide grids for all 2019 races I also reworked the Monaco & Monacane grid as we had received complaints that the cars in the back of the grid were standing in the last corner before start/finish. That in mind I decided to go for the original track grid (three wide) for Clermont as it is not possible to create a "two cars wide grid" at Clermont that is standing on the straight (except you put the cars so close behind each other that we will have a crash for sure if the car in front has a slow start or does not start at all). Well, obviously that was a bad idea, especially as the last corner at Clermont is not as tight as the last corner at Monaco. Alain was right on this.

But no matter which grid we use we should all be able to start without crashing by holding our line.

Anyway, we will use wide grids again for all cup races in the future. :)
