Inspired by race streams of an Assetto Corsa league (THR) and the GPL Historic F1 Esports League I have been experimenting the last weeks on how to create race streams of GPL. Thanks to the great Replaydirector Patch by Olaf Lehmann (http://srmz.net/inde...showtopic=12427) it is possible to watch GPL Replays and to do Live Streams that focus on the race scenes with the most action (the patch is calculating the distance between each car and sets the focus on it and switches the camera from one driver to another).

Our Mini Server can not use the live stream feature of the Replaydirector Patch as it has not enough power and most of all not a powerful 3D card (it only has onboard graphics). Therefore it is not possible to live stream with it. But the Replaydirector savedReplays patch by Olaf works with GPL replays.

- using GPLtv to display standings
- captured with OBS Studio (freeware), cut, edited & produced with Kdenlive (freeware)

The camera work could be better but you would have to know the replay off by heart to know when best to switch.
I am surprised there is no TV2 cam. Any updates ?

The TV2 cam only showed the s/f straight (looking down the long straight to T1) with Replaydirector activated. It didn`t follow any car on TV2 cam view. I don`t know if this is a Firebird track related bug or if I did anything wrong. But IIRC it did work on another track when I had tested it. I have used the latest patch version.

On the first 10 laps I was manually switching cameras from TV to TV2 (also only s/f straight) to Cockpit and back again. You can see on the moving mouse pointer.

Many laps later (I think I watched until around lap 25 of 44 while capturing) I noticed that the patch also switched rarely to Cockpit. I don`t know how the patch calculates the camera switches from TV1, TV2, Cockpit.
I hope SRMZ will be back online soon, so I can ask Olaf.

Overall I think it is a great patch to watch replays offline and also to stream races.
As the focus is always on the action (cars with low distance in between) you do not only see the top drivers in front.
It also switches to backmarkers and lapped drivers. So more or less every driver should be in focus during a 45 min race. So, everyone should spot himself on the YouTube stream.
It can also be interesting for drivers that did not take part in the race, because they had no time. And it can also be interesting to attract new drivers for GPLRACER and GPL in general.

@Paul: You mean there is no TV2 for this track? That would explain why there is no Tv2 with Replaydirector. I haven`t tested with Replaydirector deactivated. I don`t know of an TV2 cam update for Firebird.

@Pedro: Yes, it was a bit P. Skingley TV. Maybe Olaf can update his patch in the way the the camera switches to another car when it was focused too long on a car.
Don`t play it in double time, Erik is already fast enough.

I asume you will not Live stream but make a replay stream afterwards.
There is a big difference.

Yes, I stream of the replay afterwards, using Olaf Lehmann`s great Replaydirector patch and OSB stream software.
That`s why I call it Race Stream and not Live Stream.

Edit:
As it is technically not possible to Live Stream from the Mini Server, I could Live Stream from my race PC while driving the race live (I tested it during a practice race and it worked great), but I don`t think it so interesting to watch me racing in cockpit view for 45 minutes.
