I think the FFB may be broke, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Hi Yannick. Any progress ?

I do not have G29 or 920 but I think they both use the same rack and pinion method as in the G25.
I had my G25 apart before. The rack and pinion are both plastic on the G25. The sound I hear in your video is like the plastic pinion jumping teeth on the rack.

You have not had the wheel long ?
If it is still under warranty I would not open it or tamper with it but ask for a replacement.

I'm afraid it has gotten past that.
The company I bought it from has a warranty of two years and I bought mine in October 2017.
I got another suggestion that it might be the pulleys or the strip that might be dying.

I have partially taken out the wheel to look at the wire, and I do not think I see damage to the cable, apart from it got partially exposed (pictures).

This wheel also checks itself when it getts plugged in/PC starts up, going all the way left+right, but I hear nothing odd then.
In the GPL menu it has no FFB, but the wheels turns fine.

Maybe it does not make the sound when it boots up because it is not under load ?

What happens if you reduce the amount of force in the Logitech UI ? Is the noise less ?

That sound to me is like plastic gears skipping/jumping and not meshing properly.

There are some Tube demos of people taking those wheels apart. I know you have to be careful to re-assemble the rack correctly or the wheel will not centre.

Good luck
I hope you can fix it.
